Solnhofen is a limestone deposit from the Jurassic period. Solnhofen is
located in a region known as the Southern Franconian Alb (Sudliche Frankiche
Alb), which lies just north of Munich in Southern Germany. Solnhofen limestone
is very important to paleontologists of today. For it is an extremely rich
fossil deposit about the life of the late Jurassic. The quality of the fossils
and the amount of information acquired from this site has been indispensable.
The organisms where buried in mud which aloud for there intact preservation.
Almost all of the organisms found where complete. And one such fossil group is
that of the Odonata order.
